Ana Luisa de Moraes Azenha

Ana Luisa de Moraes Azenha is a researcher specializing in participatory and digital democracy. She holds a PhD in Political Science from Humboldt University of Berlin, where she wrote her thesis on the outcomes and impacts of crowdsourcing legislative initiatives. Her in-depth analysis of three case studies involved eighty interviews with project stakeholders and digital democracy experts in Brazil, Argentina, and Chile. She has also contributed to research projects such as the LATINNO database on democratic innovations in Latin America at the Berlin Social Science Centre, the DigiPartIndex on digital participation led by the Centre for Democracy Aarau and Procivis, and a study on victim participation in post-war justice processes in Germany at the University of Konstanz. Ana Luisa is an active member of global democracy and civil society networks, including People Powered, Nets4Dem, and CIVICUS.
