Abhijith Anand

Abhijith Anand is a Professor of Information Systems at the Sam M. Walton College of Business, University of Arkansas. His research sits at the intersection of information technology, digital transformation, and organizational behavior, with a particular emphasis on the healthcare sector. He focuses on how emerging technologies such as analytics and artificial intelligence create value for organizations and society. Abhijith has collaborated with and provided research expertise to a wide range of private and public sector organizations across the United States, Australia, India, and New Zealand, including SAS Institute, Salesforce, Westpac, the Australian Tax Office, Western Union, Loyalty New Zealand, Walmart, Cobb and Artemis and Apollo Hospitals.

He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Waikato, New Zealand; his M.S. and M.S. (Research) from the University of Wollongong, Australia; and his B.Eng. in Electronics from Visvesvaraya Technological University, India. His research has been published in leading journals such as Information Systems Research, Journal of Management Information Systems, European Journal of Information Systems, and MIS Quarterly Executive, among others, as well as in industry whitepapers and reports. Insights from his work have been widely adopted by industry and disseminated as knowledge resources for practitioners and policymakers.

Abhijith is the recipient of multiple awards and competitive grants, including the Association for Information Systems Best Doctoral Dissertation Award, Professors and Heads of Information Systems New Zealand (PHIS-NZ) Best Dissertation Award, Global Challenges Scholar Award, Pandemic Recovery Research Grant, SAS Research Fellowship, and the Ports Australia Fellowship, among others.
