At last week’s OIDP – International Observatory on Participatory Democracy Conference in Krakow, PDP Postdoctoral Researcher Ana Luisa de Moraes Azenha took part in the panel “Schools for Democracy: Participatory Democracy and Civic Education in School Settings.” The session showcased experiences of participatory democracy for children across four countries: Mexico, Poland, Lithuania, and Brazil.
She presented a case study of Estudantes de Atitude (“Students with Attitude”), a civic-auditing and participation program involving more than 800 schools in Goiás, Brazil. The presentation highlighted the project’s main impacts and ongoing obstacles since its creation in 2019.
